Women in Construction rock
I am amazed at the wonderful work chapter No. 110 of [the National Association of] Women in Construction ([NAWIC]) can do. Recently the CAPS program, an Alzheimer's day care center in West Covina that provides socialization and stimulation for person suffering from Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and stroke, benefited from [NAWIC]'s efforts. Canadian Association of Women in Construction announces official launch
The Board of Directors of the Canadian Association of Women in Construction (CAWIC) are pleased to announce the association's official launch. CAWIC was founded 23 years ago by a group of Toronto-area professional women working in the construction industry. Originally the Toronto Chapter 295 of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), CAWIC recently separated from its US-based parent organization. CAWIC will continue to maintain its ties with NAWIC and will also establish unilateral and multilateral relationships with similar associations in the United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand through the signing of International Affiliations. Youths build dreams with Legos
"It's a museum with a dinosaur sticking his head out," said [an] amateur architect, 7. As the winner, the second-grader will receive bookstore gift certificates and his creation will be preserved and submitted to the NAWIC. (more)

 


Young builders rock the blocks
One hundred Legos, a piece of aluminum foil, some string and a rock. That's all 19 boys and girls were equipped with as each took on a challenge presented by the local chapter of National Association of Women in Construction during their annual "Block Party" at Cameron Elementary School. The mission they accepted: To build something elaborate with those construction materials in under 45 minutes. (more)
